Set right on Ialysos Beach, just a 10-minute drive from Rhodes Town and the island’s airport, the Sun Beach Resort boasts excellent leisure and entertainment facilities for children and adults. Free WiFi is available throughout.

Sun Beach Resort consists of 2 buildings, one on the beachfront and the other one just 30 metres away, surrounded by 35,000 m² of gardens stretching all the way down to the sea.

The modern rooms have centrally controlled air-conditioning and heating (24-hour operation from June to September), satellite TV with music channels and internet access. Each includes a furnished private balcony or terrace with land, garden or sea view. Additional amenities include a writing desk corner, mini fridge, hairdryer, soundproof windows. Safety boxes are available at surcharge.

Loved every minute of it … excellent staff and facilities !!!

Very clean well equipped room albeit a bit dated … loved the infinity pool although had to get down there for 8am to reserve beds … all staff friendly and helpful … proper quality place … excellent choice at breakfast … highly recommend in our opinion !!! We paid for a sea view and it was worth it … love this place !!!

Bit dated in places … didn’t appear to be air-con in reception … got note on car for parking Rodos car in car park as they push Sun Car hire … thought that was a bit off … it is what it is … overall cracking place and plenty of good shops and eateries nearby !!!

Nice location, fantastic view of the sea. Very good breakfast.

The gym needs to be upgraded. I prefer a sand beach, and it is very windy.

Great service and atmosphere, I would go back again.

The staff were very friendly and attentive . The infinity pool is a perfect place to hang out during the day. We loved the Thalasa restaurant and bar.

The rooms are a bit old fashioned, the design is dated. You have to pay for the sun beds on the beach.

What was the highlight of Sun Beach Resort

A beautiful private beach but fell short of our expectations overall.

The resort is a short distance from the airport and covers quite a large area. It even has its own mini mart, which is quite well stocked. Buying bottled water is a must when staying here. The private beach is the best thing here and we had a great time relaxing on the sun beds, or just walking along the shore after meals. There are also a few resident cats on the property, which are very clean and affectionate toward the guests. Staff is friendly and polite, especially those at the restaurants during meal services. Their cheerful faces and warm greetings made us feel very welcome each time. There also plenty of areas to lounge around on the property. Comfortable couches with free flow cold drinks for all at the lobby, a number of swimming pools, bars, ala carte restaurants.

We chose half board for our stay but I must say that I was very disappointed with the food, especially the dinner buffet. The quality of the food is unacceptable in my opinion, for the price. The traditional greek dishes, for example, were inferior to any of the ones we tried at local eateries and restaurants. The cakes and desserts look beautiful but taste absolutely subpar! Needless to say, we hardly ate during dinner. Neither did we look forward to them, which was a shame. The rooms are honestly a little dated and old. You also have to pay 18reuros to use the safe in the room (for a 3 night stay). I booked a room for 4 and two had to sleep on the sofas in the living room. That would have been fine if bedsheets were provided. But they weren´t. The sofas are old and the material is rough and prickly, not to mention a little smelly. In the end, I requested for bedsheets to lay over the sofas, which they provided without further questions. We wanted to play billiard but both tables on the property were out of order. The game machines there are also very dated and not well maintained.

Staff on reception, restaurant, housekeeping & lifeguards were excellent

Bar did not have enough staff and ones there were too slow and more interested in customers paying rather than all inclusive

The small town is close to the beach and has good restaurants. It is not far from the airport. You have plenty of things to do. I think it will be good for a family to stay there, but maybe not so much for a couple.

The room description is unclear, all the rooms have single beds which can be pushed together, and the hotel is too close to the airport, so you can hear planes arriving and departing.

The location was amazing The pool was beautiful and very clean The staff were amazing, very helpful and friendly. The beach was a few steps from our Hotel Beautiful beach

The only thing i didn't like was that we could not get any English or Greek speaking programmes and there was not even subtitles on the TV. The only channels we got on the TV was English and Greek news. Also I didn't like that if breakfast wasn't included in your stay we couldn't get an individual breakfast apart from the buffet breakfast at €20 until after 11.00 am. The buffet was lovely but too much for us to eat so we were not going to pay €20 for a piece of toast with an egg or a toast with jam that we could get for half the price and why wait until 11.00 to have breakfast. You might need to consider having a section where people can just get a simple breakfast at the same time with the others and not wait till 11.00 when it's time for lunch. Apart from the above everything was great.

nice holiday hotel but very close to the busy holiday airport

The family room was big and divided into 2, with bathroom and kitchen, pool and sport facilities were nice, front sea view was excellent

the location is on the planes landing path, so you do hear all the planes landing in the early morning (and later during the day too)

Staff friendly rooms with nice sea view , confortable and clean the breakfast on the restaurant with really nice sea view The pool near the sea with on amazing situation , but the bar close too early

The diner was served too early , the quality of the dinner was not so good compare to last year the beach towels not always available

It was good but some points has to be improved

the hotel it self (rooms, outdoor areas etc) was cleaned very well each day (even the pool area was moped each morning), the location was good, rooms have good and functioning air-conditioning in them (a must in this region in the summer), most of the staff was friendly and helpful (not all though, see the "cons" written below), breakfast was mostly good, and there was more than enough to choose from, more than I could ever eat. the deserts were really tasty, many types of fruits were available. the hotel is very good for families with children, they invest a lot into evening activities. the outdoor pool was not huge but sufficient. there is also a small bar near the pool area.

1. for an hotel which proudly carries a "4 Stars" sign at the reception - this hotel (at least the "garden wing") is absolutely not fit to be four stars, the rooms, outdoor areas and facilities have seen better days (they kept everything clean but it seem to look like they did not care about small repairs like broken tiles or broken light fixture in outdoor areas or in a room a bathtub where the curtain was installed in such angel that it's impossible to properly shower without this thing touching you the entire time), I have seen 3 star hotels in Germany which looked better than this. but maybe it is the normal in Greece? no idea. 2. Breakfast: Vegetables (mostly sliced cucumbers and tomatoes) served at breakfast did not look so fresh to me, as if they were either prepared a few hours in advanced, or just the tomatoes used were already too soft. scrambled eggs had a funny taste so I avoided them for my own sake (later I have found out there was also a stand where they prepared fresh omelettes) 3. Problem solving - we had one incident (without too much details), where one of the hotel's manager was so focus on putting the blame on us than trying to find us a solution (hint: we were not the party to blame on that case, but he was quite obsessed about it), at the end he came through, but not after a rather aggressive conversation in front of other people. tip for the future: unless the customer is really at fault, it is always "cheaper" to focus on the customer and not your own ego or pride.

A good four-star hotel

We had a great time! The room was nice and spacious, with all the necessary amenities. It had a balcony overlooking the sea (but also the dumpsters ). There was a shop nearby with reasonable prices, and you could access it directly from the hotel. The restaurant served fresh and delicious food, with a buffet option. There were several pools available. The beach was nearby, but the sunbeds there were chargeable at 5 euros/day, although they were always clean. In the evenings, they organized entertaining shows that were enjoyable for both adults and children.

I didn't notice many downsides, except maybe the fact that the drinks offered by the waiters were three times more expensive than those in the nearby store Also, the bus stop was located a bit far from the hotel
